How to Write Specifications
Standard Features
- Roll-up compartment doors shall be manufactured and assembled in the United States by R-O-M Corporation, 6800 E. 163rd St., Belton, MO 64012, 800-827-3692, 816-318-8000, fax 816-318-8100.
- Doors shall be front roll [or] doors shall be rear roll.
- There shall be an aluminum drip rail above each compartment door with a non-abrasive seal [or] there shall be a brush seal.
- The doors shall have an anodized satin finish [or] anodized brushed finish [or] wet paint finish. Powder coating is not acceptable.
- Magnetic door ajar system must be integrated in lift bar handle and the retainer block to signal open door. No mechanical switches or switches interior to the compartment shall be used.
- Every slat must have interlocking end shoes to prevent slat from moving side-to-side and binding the door.
- Between each slat must be a co-extruded PVC inner seal to prevent metal-to-metal contact and to repel moisture. This inner seal is not visible to detract from appearance of door.
- Slats are to have interlocking joints with a folding locking flange to provide security and prevent penetration by sharp objects.
- Slats to be double-wall extrusion 1.366" high by .315" thick. Exterior surface to be flat and interior surface to be concave to prevent loose equipment from interfering with door operation.
- Latch system to be a full width one piece lift bar operable by one hand.
- Two inch wide finger pull integrated into the bottom rail extrusion for easy one hand opening and closing.
- Clip system that connects the curtain slats to the operator drum which allows for easy tension adjustment without tools.
- Each roll-up door shall have a four inch diameter counterbalance operator drum to assist in lifting the door.
- Compartment lighting system integrated into door track. Compartment light actuates when door is opened.
- Compartment lighting must have adjustable LED strips. Lighting must have polycarbonate lens to eliminate breakage from impact and eliminate heat build up.
- Track shall be one-piece aluminum that has an attaching flange and finishing flange incorporated into its design.
- Drip rail will have specially designed seal that prevents the seal from scratching the door.
- Bottom rail extrusion must have smooth back to prevent loose equipment from jamming the door.
- Bottom rail to have "V" shaped double seal to prevent water and debris from entering the compartment.
- Standard replacement parts to be shipped from the United States and available in as little as 48 hours.
- Manufacturer to provide factory employed sales personnel located throughout the United States and Canada to assist with specification, design and maintenance issues.
Optional Features
- Key lock cylinder to be installed to provide security, with lock rods operating through bottom rail of the door.
- Painted doors to have the exact color and high-gloss appearance of the vehicle.
- Doors to include patented power operating and locking system that includes manual door and lock override, nylon drive sprockets, electronic current protection, multi-switch capability and linear-actuated locks.
