BELTON, MO (October 2007) -- When R-O-M Corporation introduced the RoadwarrioR Platform system in 2006, the product filled a need for safer and more efficient trailer side-door access options. Today, R-O-M Corporation has enhanced that system with additional Platform sizes and mounting options.
Initially offered in a 44" x 60" model mounted under the trailer, the Platform system is now also offered in a 44" x 42" model and a 44" x 48" version. Both of the newer models can be mounted in-floor by the OEM or retrofitted under the trailer. When mounted in-floor, the Platform can be installed forward of the landing gear for greater access to the frozen compartment.
The Platform draws on the features of R-O-M's leading RoadwarrioR and SidekicK safety walkramp technology by offering an aggressive traction surface and open castings for self-cleaning safety. With a staging area as large as 44" x 60" and a load capacity of up to 2000 pounds, the RoadwarrioR Platform outperforms current side-door access options, says Dan Caffrey, R-O-M National Accounts Manager.
"We feel we've put together the ultimate trailer access solution," Caffrey says. "The Platform offers a driver-friendly place to safely stand, down-stack product and easily maneuver a hand-truck. We've offered the ability to retrofit the Platform under the trailer or install at the OEM level in the floor, including forward of the landing gear. And the system can be set up and taken down in about three minutes. Those are all important features for efficient side-door deliveries."
The Platform system works with R-O-M's RoadwarrioR and SidekicK safety walkramps, allowing drivers to parallel the trailer to the front or rear. This means a smaller footprint in the parking lot and less need to re-position the trailer in difficult offloading settings. For shorter deliveries, R-O-M has also introduced the SideStep ladder for use with the Platform or directly at the rear or side doors.
