FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

R-O-M Introduces DuroLumen, an Amp-Saving
LED Interior Trailer Lighting System

LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology uses less amps, lasts longer and withstands the food distribution environment better than fluorescent lamps.

Belton, MO (October 23, 2005) -- Already becoming the standard for exterior lighting, LED technology now moves inside the trailer with the DuroLumen LED Interior Trailer Lighting System from R-O-M Corporation. The product, after being field tested in food distribution installations, was introduced at the 2005 Productivity Convention in Orlando, FL.

Steve Briggs, R-O-M's vice president of sales and marketing, says the company has seen the distinct advantages of LED technology both with exterior trailer lighting and with R-O-M's own success with its LED compartment lighting technology for emergency vehicles. Briggs says the advantages of LED lighting over current interior lighting solutions are numerous:

  • LEDs draw less amps, preventing drawn-down batteries.
  • LEDs last longer, up to 100,000 hours, reducing replacement-bulb cost and virtually eliminating maintenance.
  • LEDs are solid-state and better withstand the food distribution environment.
  • LEDs illuminate immediately, requiring no heat strips or warm-up time.

"We excel at providing innovative solutions for food distributors," Briggs says. "That's why we're proud to introduce the DuroLumen System. We feel LED technology, with wide acceptance across multiple industries, offers next-generation efficiencies for the same companies who benefit from our industry-leading safety walkramps and insulated bulkhead systems."

The DuroLumen System can be specified on new trailers and retrofits to existing light fixture cutouts. More information is available at www.romcorp.com/food_distribution or by calling 800-827-3692.
