The Core
At the heart of the LoadMaker bulkhead system is a 7-layer core. The tough vinyl skin on either side surrounds three high density foam sheets layered between two proprietary plastic substrates. The layers are laminated in a patented process that provides flexibility while ensuring structural integrity.
Core Construction:
- Open cell foam is used for its strong thermal properties. It is also high density, which maintains compression and reduces the potential for shrinkage under sub-zero temperatures.
- Proprietary substrate produces excellent resilience and structural strength. This prevents sagging and weakening of the core after bending or impact.
- A cold weather moisture cure adhesive bonds the foam to the substrate, creating efficient thermal barriers while eliminating the potential for moisture penetration or delamination under sub-zero temperatures.
- Bonded to that is a vinyl skin to provide an impact resistant, pressure washable surface that resists wear and is easily repaired in the field.
